It’s time for the NCAA Basketball Tuesday Night Parlay, and Ej Garr has a trio of offers to suggest to our readers today.
With a pair of totals and an underdog in mind to set up the Tuesday night card, let’s get right to the court and see what Ej has in store.
NCAAB Tuesday Night Parlay Odds: 6.59
Odds via bet365 as of 8:00 am on December 19, 2023. Odds may now differ.
The Georgetown Hoyas will visit Hinkle Fieldhouse on Tuesday night to face the Butler Bulldogs, and the home team arrives at the party as significant favourites to win the game. With a double-digit spread offered by the line setters, let’s keep in mind that the Hoyas walked into Hinkle Fieldhouse as underdogs last season, and Georgetown came away with the dub.
I am not going to bother with that big spread of +11.5, but I do think the play to make here is with the points we can expect to see light up the scoreboard. I don’t think I need to tell anyone who follows college hoops how good the Butler offence is this season, as all it takes is noticing the 84.7 PPG the Bulldogs score per game.
The Bulldogs don’t shoot the ball exceptionally well from behind the arc (ranked 97th in 3PT%), but getting to the rim and points in the paint come in droves for this deep Butler squad that goes 11-deep. The top four scorers all average double-digits, and nine of them are putting up over 40% from the floor.
Pierre Brooks has made his way to double-digits in every game this year, and he leads the way for the Bulldogs averaging 16.8 PPG. The Michigan State transfer brought 51 starts for Tim Izzo to the Bulldogs roster this season, and he was, obviously, quite a catch in the transfer portal for Butler.
I expect this to be a bit of a blowout, so I will call for an 87-73 game that gets us to 160 points.
The 9-1 Virginia Cavaliers arrive at FedEx Forum as slight underdogs when they face the 8-2 Memphis Tigers on Tuesday night, and I have my eyes on the road team to find the win. The line setters have Memphis favoured by -2.5 points, and although I will make that my play, I still believe that the Cavs will end up leaving FedEx Forum as winners of this big non-conference tilt.
This is a big game for both of these programs that expect to be around deep into the March Madness Tournament, and it’s games like these where the measuring stick comes out.
Memphis has only played three games in this building through the first ten games of their schedule, and as one might expect, they have won all three of those affairs. In case you are wondering if the Memphis schedule is full of cupcakes, think otherwise! The strength of schedule that Memphis has faced is extremely impressive, and they are certainly prepared for a game of this magnitude, especially at home.
I digress, as I see a Virginia team whose biggest challenge came against Wisconsin, and that resulted in the Cavaliers’ lone loss of the campaign. I think the line-setters are setting everyone who likes to play small home favs or even settle for a Moneyline play on the home team to win in a parlay.
Don’t do it! Why? DEFENCE! Listen, who each team has played is all just paperwork, and THIS GAME is all that matters to both of these programs tonight. I think that the Virginia defence certainly outweighs the Memphis defence, and you can confirm all of those stats if you like.
You know we have about 330 teams in the league, right? When you see a 226 next to your points allowed ranking, it is just a matter of time until that costs them a big game, and that comes tonight.
Virginia is going to win this game, 72-70, and yes, I guess that means I predict the Over might sneak in right along with it. I do not like to bet on Virginia totals because of their defensive prowess, so I will just stick with the upset and put the +2.5 points on the board.
Break out your calculator and try to keep up with Ole Miss tonight!
Speaking of a cupcake schedule, have you seen who Troy has faced this season? My goodness, let’s just call it low-quality and leave it that. The Trojans just scored 110 points against Southern New Orleans, and that is why we call opponents like those cupcakes.
Grambling and Reinhardt are barely even schools with a basketball program, and those types of results have no bearing on rankings, stats, or anything else you want to track.
I am here to feed you winners and not fill you with wasted time reading about why things will happen, and what’s going to happen is Ole Miss is going to score a season-high 99 points against Troy tonight.
A perfect 10-0, Ole Miss has everything working heading into this game, and landing Troy at home is just going to add to their confidence going forward. Troy’s defence is allowing 69.9 PPG, which ranks them 153rd in the nation, and Sam Houston State, along with Ohio, both put up 88 points against Troy with ease!
If Troy were smart about approaching Ole Miss, they would get them into foul trouble and get into that bench because Mississippi isn’t deep at all, and when conference play gets here, I am going to wonder how good this team is against SEC opponents.
Until we get there, Troy is no power program, and they are about to get lit up tonight.
99-73, and that puts us well over the 147-point mark we need to cash this ticket on the total.
