NCAA Basketball Picks for Tuesday, November 28th: 3.64 Odds 2-Game Combo
IMAGO / USA TODAY Network The North Carolina State Wolfpack mascot performs during the second half at PNC Arena.

As we near the end of Non-Conference NCAA basketball games to begin the campaign, the arrival of conference play is around the corner. As is the norm, every program is wrapping up its out-of-conference schedules as November comes to a close, so we only have a few more days to take advantage of some lopsided affairs on Tuesday night.

Our resident college hoops expert Ej Garr is here to pick out a couple of those gems from the hardwood, so let’s hit the court and slamdunk home a little combo for Tuesday night!

NCAA BASKETBALL TUESDAY PARLAY: 3.64 2-GAME COMBO WITH 2 TOTALS

MISSISSIPPI REBELS VS. NORTH CAROLINA STATE WOLFPACK: EJ’S DRUNK LINE SETTER ALERT!

You know when Ej breaks out the drunk line setter alert that he knows we are about to take advantage of something good, right? Well, you guessed it, because this is something I have been doing for the last 10 years on my social platforms such as YouTube, podcasts, etc. It started when I was doing a college football podcast called The Throwdown, and every weekend I would pick out a game that I knew the line setters got drunk before they set a line, HA!

It was all in fun, but when I hit my first 16-in-a-row, it wasn’t just for fun anymore, because people loved me for one call every week. I know the new generation wants to hit 5-6-7 or more games in a parlay to cash an outrageous ticket, but that is not what I am about. I am happy with a couple of winners a day, so if you do make big parlays just use my bets and add them to what else you like.

Okay, now that I have that out of the way, this total between Ole Miss and the Wolfpack is set entirely too low for the type of game we are about to get on Tuesday night at the Pavilion. First of all, let me say that Ole Miss only being favoured by a point says a lot about the respect the oddsmakers have for the Wolfpack, and here is why.

My goodness, you may only see a #55 next to their ranking in overall scoring with 82.6 PPG, but what I see is another game about to happen where 85 is the number to hit to win this game. I think Ole Miss at home can surely put up 79 points at the very worst against the Wolfpack.

Neither of these squads has a lick of rebounding numbers to speak of on either side of the glass, and that will lead to plenty of second-chance opportunities and/or fast-break opportunities.

The Wolfpack will gladly go up and down the court for 40 minutes with any program that wants to go in that direction, and I don’t see Ole Miss as a threat on defence to stop any of the Wolfpack rushes to the net.

The top five 3-point shooters for the Wolfpack are all converting over 31% of their outside shots, and if you haven’t seen Jayden Taylor shoot a basketball yet, tune in and marvel for yourself when you do. The dude is making 55.6% from behind the arc, and he’s already banked 11 of 18 such shots. All Taylor did for two years at Butler was hit big 3 after big 3, so catching this guy in the transfer portal was a massive win for Head Coach Kevin Keatts.

Again, my final score prediction is more like 84 – 79, and that puts us well into the 160s. When the line setters get drunk before they hit the pavement, they better not leave me that much room on a total I think will FLY IN!

PORTLAND STATE VIKINGS VS. PORTLAND PILOTS: AN IN-STATE RIVALRY… CONTINUED

The Pilots hold a 41 – 20 all-time series lead against the Vikings, and both of these programs have gotten off to positive starts to begin the campaign. For the 11th consecutive season, these two non-conference foes still have each other on the schedule to keep the rivalry alive, and I am so happy they did!

Ready? Are you ready? Good! 151.5 on this total is going to be smashed with 5 minutes left to play in the game. Yes, when the clock hits 5:00 left to play in the second half, the score will be 76 – 75 and we will just need a basket to finish the job.

I love plays like that when you just know a game is going to fly over just by how it starts, and make no mistake this game will also be getting off to a high-flying start. Outside of that Tennessee State result which was a 75- 65 loss for this Pilots team, they have scored no less than 76 points in all of their other games. Let’s not forget the loss to Nevada, 108 – 83!

You know, the 190+ points, pfft! HA!

This is a rivalry game, and all I can remember is the 98 – 91 result from last season when these two met. That’s just nuts, and we don’t even have any of that madness to help us hit a low 151.5 on this total.

Speaking of winners in the transfer portal, the Vikings latched onto KJ Allen after two years at Texas Tech, and he is leading this squad in scoring with just over 12 PPG. Jorell Satterfeld transferred over from UTEP for the Vikings last season, and all he did was play every game averaging 32 minutes a night while averaging over 13 PPG. His production is down a bit to start the season, but I will go on a limb and say that Satterfeld scores 19 tonight, while Allen picks up his average en route to a 16-point night.

The two of them will combine to bring in 35 points and 11 rebounds, and the cast around them will do their share to get us to the promised land!
