After winning in the Eternal derby in round 21, Partizan is hosting Lyon in a very good mood. It seems Obradovic’s team has finally found a winning defensive approach and is able to fight for the top 8. Lyon has made a couple of upsets this season but Stark Arena will be too big of a bite for them.
In this article:
Tue, Jan 31th. 8:00 pm (UK time)
Partizan have won the last 4 games in the Euroleague at home. They have been improving their defence which was their biggest fluke at the start of the season. Offensive stats still look impressive, 83.8 PPG whilst shooting 50% from the field and almost 40% beyond the arc.
The team has shown drastic improvements after they have left behind injury issues and their full rotation is available.
Coach Obradovic has shown Partizan can win games on the lower amount of points and lower amount of possessions. Tonight we expect a high-paced game against the young Lyon squad and in this scenario, Partizan is a much better team overall. For tonight Partizan will be missing only C B. Koprivica due to an illness.
Lyon is a very strange team. They have managed to win on the road against Barcelona and Anadolu Efes but they struggle overall with lower-quality teams even on the home court. They have been very inconsistent and have been troubled with injuries. They have been scoring only 75.5 points per game whilst having more than 85 possessions per game, this shows us that they are very inefficient and inconsistent. Their shooting splits are 45% from the field respectively while shooting 34% from behind the arc. They have been letting their opponents score 80 PPG which gives them a negative 5 points rating on average which shows us why they are at the bottom of the table with an 8W 11L score. Partizan will try to seek revenge for the first game and easily spilled victory. The margin in the first game was 4 points so the home team will push to win by 5 or more.
Partizan have won the last 4 home games in the Euroleague convincingly, and are on a road to fighting for the top 8. We expect the home team to deliver tonight as the match for sure has been prepared in the best possible way by the coaching staff. Taking into account the atmosphere by the home fans that will be present, Partizan is an easy pickup for tonight to cover the spread.
