We’re headed to colourful Colorado for Tuesday night’s college hoops best bet, as the Colorado State Rams and Nevada Wolf Pack square off for a Mountain West battle. Both programs have already secured a 20-win season, and the Rams are putting their 15 – 1 home record on the line tonight.
A -5.5 handicap is showing on the Colorado State Rams at home; with the total set at 138.5.

Our Colorado State Rams vs Nevada Wolf Pack prediction is for the Wolf Pack to cover the +5.5 Handicap.
The Rams have only lost one game at Moby Arena this campaign, but the Wolf Pack will be for the season sweep of the series against Colorado State tonight. The Wolf Pack arrives at the party as underdogs, and I must admit that I am surprised to see the line setters giving us +5.5 points to put in our pockets.
As we look at the Mountain West Conference table, the Rams are back in the seventh position with just an 8 – 7 record, and they will only have two games left to play before the conference tournament begins. I was watching one of the halftime shows on ESPN about two weeks ago, and two of their analysts said that Colorado State should be favoured to win the conference title.
I am sorry but I do not see what anyone else is looking at, and I honestly think Nevada is going to win this game outright on the road tonight. I am not one to let a handful of points just sit on the board, especially when I think we have the better team on the court tonight anyway!
Nevada is 6 – 1 over their last 7 games, and a 1-point loss to New Mexico is the only blemish in that run. In the first meeting between these programs back on January 24, Jarod Lucas put up nearly a perfect game with 28 points going 10 -14 from the floor, 3 for 3 from behind the arc, and 5 for 5 from the free-throw line. Lucas had some help from Kena Blackshear who added 20 points in the 77 – 64 win over the Rams.
Neither team has a player on the injury report, so it’s all hands on deck tonight for both teams.
The Rams’ top-2 scorers combined for a total of 15 points in the loss to Nevada, and they both spent the most time on the court that night too. Isaiah Stevens and Nique Clifford average 16.4 and 12.5 PPG for the Rams, and I guarantee that Steve Alford is going to take the same approach tonight to limit the Rams’ offence.
I’ll just throw it out there that I expect this game to come down to the final possessions, and this will be a tight game in the final minutes. I expect the Wolf Pack to win this game, but Colorado State plays some inspired hoops in this building and that is a reason for concern. I can pocket +5.5 points and I suggest you do the same for this Mountain West Conference tilt tonight.

The Rams have lost 3 of their last 4 games, and they are trying to avoid the season sweep against the Wolf Pack tonight.
Colorado State has struggled in the second half this season, as they barely scored over 36 points over the last 20 minutes. Nevada is averaging 40 points per game in the second half, and that will be a factor again tonight.
The Rams’ offense ranks 17th in the country converting 49.1% from the floor this year.
When it comes to rebounding, the Rams simply STINK! Home court advantage has helped them out a lot this year, but the inefficiencies on the glass are also going to be why Colorado State falls apart.
The Wolf Pack offense appears in the top 30 of the rankings in assists, turnovers, steals, and blocks.
The Nevada defense ranks 21st limiting opponents to 29.7 PPG in the first half this year.
Nevada has won 6 of their last 7 games, and they are riding a current 3-game win streak coming into this match against the Rams.
