Our second bet builder of the day will be from the derby of the day: Slovenia faces Australia in one of the games that could change the fate of both national teams, especially for Australia cause they have one defeat, while Germany and Slovenia are perfect.
Our basketball expert Elek Lenard has another basketball bet builder for today’s FIBA World Cup action.
There is no room for defeat for Australia, as they would have two defeats and both Germany and Slovenia would have just one. But there are reasons to believe they should win this. This will be replay of the 2020 Olympic game bronze medal match, which Australia won with ease, 107-93.
Now, Australia is a little bit different. While there is no Jock Landale, there is Josh Giddey, Josh Green, Matisse Thybulle and Xavier Cooks. Australia plays fast-paced basketball, which is the same for Slovenia. We saw how Venezuela managed to hold onto the game, Slovenia have huge issues with defence as many of their players just aren’t good on that side of the court.
Australia should look to push the pace and make Doncic uncomfortable. It will be especially tough for the Slovenians because of many missmatches Australia can create – either Mills attacking Tober or Luka, or wings and bigs going against Slovenian wings.
Josh is performing solid this tournament, averaging 19 points with 7,3 assists and 15 field goal attempts. Against Slovenia, his playmaking should be on full display, as there will be many opportunities for assists against a weak Slovenian defence.
He is playing aggresive, and while his midrange and three point shots aren’t going in well, he still takes them. Mills is older than in the Olympics, so Aussies will need good performance from Josh. And about Slovenia defense, they allowed Cape Verde to shooting 20/27 at the rim.
Klemen Prepelic and Aleksej Nikolic should be food for Giddey, as both are seriously undersized to guard him. Giddey played 30+ minutes against both Germany and Japan, so he should also play now, and lead Australia to win.
