Ej is simply on fire in 2024, and he is burning down the nets posting a perfect 5 – 0 record with his college basketball predictions this year! Our resident college hoops expert is heading to an old standby, and if you recall, the one thing he did so well last year was bang out Kansas First-Half bets.
Well, it’s back again in 2024, and with the expectation of running his win streak to 6 – 0 this year, Ej has a big play on the Jayhawks to get us paid in only 20 minutes!

That’s right, I am going back to an old friend for today’s best bet, and as you recall from last year, if you were reading my previews, I ended up 9 – 2 with 11 Kansas 1st-half bets. Luckily, it is all still posted here in the expert insights basketball section from 2023 so you can go look it all up for yourself.
This is the magic moment to return to a first-half bet that I have not done yet this season, and Kansas will come out with their hair on fire against a much weaker UCF squad. Kansas has lost a single game this entire campaign, and with the Purdue loss to Nebraska last night, the Jayhawks might be sporting a new ranking next Monday.
Wins like these are a must for Kansas Head Coach Bill Self, so if you think he won’t have his team motivated to take advantage of a Knights team that hasn’t picked up a quality win yet, I will test that water all day!
The Knights just got smashed by 25 points against Kansas State in their first game of 2024 last Saturday, and now they have to deal with Kansas, albeit at home. I see no home-court advantage big enough to intimidate anyone wearing a Jayhawks jersey, and Hunter Dickinson isn’t scared of anything in front of him either.
Dickinson is averaging 19.4 PPG and 12.4 boards this year, and the dude feeding him the ball up front ain’t too shabby either. Kevin McCullar Jr. is one of only 23 players averaging over 20 PPG, and he has doubled his production from his first season with Kansas last year. After three years with Texas Tech and three straight seasons averaging about 10 PPG for his career, he has taken the torch and has become a complete guard who is a load to deal with.
No team has been able to hold McCullar under double-digit points this season, and he is averaging 6.2 rebounds over his last 10 games… from the guard position, people!
I am fired up to watch Kansas explode early and carry no less than a 10-point lead to the locker room at halftime, so let’s get paid in 20 minutes and cash the Jayhawks’ 1st-Half -3.5 to make it 6 – 0 in 2024, shall we?!

Since this is the first season Central Florida is playing in the Big 12 Conference, this is the first meeting between these programs.
The Knights are 0 – 3 against power-5 Conference teams this year, and they are coming off a 25-point drubbing by Kansas rival Kansas State.
Kansas brings a 9-game win streak into Orlando on Wednesday night, and there is nothing about their non-conference schedule that has been easy. Kansas’ strength of schedule is among the leaders in NCAA basketball, and they keep passing all of the early tests outside of the one loss to Marquette this year.
