It seems that finally, Milano’s offence has clicked. They have had some very efficient and fluent offensive games recently, clinching wins in their last 2 Euroleague games. The most impressive was the 20-margin victory over the top-seed Olympiacos team. They indeed seem like they’ve finally developed their synergy. Valencia will be shaken by injuries once again, missing 4 key players.

Valencia are still an active contestant for a top 8 spot although they’ve lost 3 of their last 4 Euroleague games. Their offensive numbers have dropped significantly after the injuries they have been facing. They’re averaging 81 points per game which is very respectful but it seems this number has declined in the last weeks.
Although they’re still sitting on a 13-13 record, if they lose tonight’s game their playoff dreams will be a lot thinner. We are expecting a very focused and motivated home team supported by a well-known Spanish basketball audience. Still, we are not sure they will be able to match Milano’s quality with such a shortened rotation. The home team will be missing S. Van Rossom (knee injury), M. Hermansson (knee injury) and M. Alexander and M. Jimenez are out due to ankle injuries.
Milano have finally managed to win 2 Euroleague games in a row. They’ve been the biggest disappointment this season so far. Only in the last couple of games, they’ve shown their offensive and defensive potential, for the first time this year! Although it is a bit late for the playoff race, we believe sportsmanship motives and the pure quality of such an amazing roster will have a say in Valencia. Their offensive stats haven’t been great, but they managed to score 80+ points in the last two games one of which was against Olympiacos. If they show us tonight anywhere near that type of performance they should be in for smooth sailing. S. Shields and L. Datome remain questionable for tonight.
Milano have been very successful in clashes against Valencia in recent years. They’ve won the last 4 out of 5 games and 2 out of 3 at home. The quality discrepancy has probably never been bigger, the only question remains will this Milano team show up to play tonight or not?
