Today’s Horse Racing Tips – September 9th
There are four flat turf meetings in Britain on Friday, with Chester, Doncaster, Salisbury and Sandown providing good quality and competitive action across the board. The third day of the St Leger meeting is the highlight of the day, with the Group 2 Doncaster Cup at 3.10pm providing a pretty unique test of stamina over the 2m2f trip. Although Stradivarius unfortunately misses the chance to retain his title, this is still an exciting contest and the chance for a new champion stayer to emerge. For NH followers, Ballinrobe stage a competitive jumps card with good field sizes after the recent rain eased the ground in Ireland.

Madrinho
Chester 2:10 (UK time)
Tony Carroll’s 9-y-o retains his form consistently given his age, and he shaped really well over seven furlongs at this track in July (sent off 50/1 but finishing strongly from miles off the pace to take a closing third). This slightly stiffer test should suit ideally, and the assistance of the excellent amateur rider Patrick Millman is a big plus to his chances (with just three runs so far this summer against rivals who have been kept very busy).
Odds: NA
Ludos Landing
Chester 3:58 (UK time)
Mark Johnston’s juvenile has really thrived in recent weeks, showing a terrific attitude to win gamely at Carlisle and then rather done for pace on the all-weather at Kempton. He now has a career high mark as a result, but has Jason Hart in the saddle and a switch to frontrunning tactics should make him extremely hard to pass at this sharp track.
Odds: NA
Odds are best odds available as at 2am September 9th 2022. Odds may now differ.
