There are seven scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with flat fans in for a very busy informative afternoon and evening. They have Bath, Curragh, Goodwood, Haydock and Pontefract to study on quickening ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Sussex venue (and the top Newmarket yards sure to be well represented as usual). Jumping fans have low grade action to study at Downpatrick and Hereford on decent rain eased ground, with a big family crowd likely at both tracks for their popular evening meeting and the handicaps looking especially tricky for the time of year.

Goodwood 2.25 (UK time)
Gary and Josh Moore’s recent at rival makes plenty of appeal from this lenient handicap mark, and has been waiting for some eased decent ground to exploit it (taken out at Ascot the weekend before last as things got too fast). The unusual booking of William Buick certainly catches the eye for these astute connections, and he can weave his way through late if enjoying any luck in running under a typically patient ride from rear.

Goodwood 3.00 (UK time)
Sean Woods filly has had a couple of sighters on the all-weather this spring, and could be at a fitness advantage over some of these rivals under the ageless veteran Rab Havlin. She has shaped with promise in five previous career starts on the turf, and this increased test of stamina over 1m4f could unlock plenty more improvement (with any easing if the ground a plus).
Odds: 5.50
