Friday’s Horse Racing Tips: York, May 19th

Today’s Horse Racing Tips – May 19th
There are seven meetings in Britain and Ireland on a very busy Friday, with competitive handicaps and classy Group races very much the order of the day at York on the flat (as the popular Dante meeting concludes with the Yorkshire Cup the highlight). There are supporting flat cards at Hamilton, Leopardstown, Newbury and Newmarket. NH fans have the evening cards at Aintree and Downpatrick to study, with a big crowd expected at the Merseyside venue and the action getting underway at 5.20pm.

Today’s Daily Nap
Eldar Eldarov
York 3:35 (UK time)
Roger Varian’s progressive 4-y-o improved run to run last season as his stamina was drawn out (until struggling on his final start when over the top), and he appeals as just the type to excel granted a proper test of stamina this time around (very strong at the finish when landing the St Leger at Doncaster). He returns to the fray with the yard beginning to hit form, and the flat galloping track should really suit now that underfoot conditions have finally begun to quicken up.
Odds: NA
Today’s Value Angle
Spirit Dancer
York 3:00 (UK time)
Richard Fahey’s handicapper posted career best efforts at this track on his final three runs last season, and seems sure to be primed to make a winning reappearance under Oisin Orr (with excellent prize money on offer as usual on the Knavesmire). The yard has a terrific record at this galloping track, and their 6-y-o will be looking to swoop late (with a strong pace up front assured in a big field).
Odds: NA
Odds are best odds available as at 2am May 19th 2023. Odds may now differ.
