There are three scheduled meetings in Britain on Thursday, with NH fans in for an interesting afternoon. They have Ffos Las and Wincanton to analyse on testing ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Somerset venue (alongside some promising novices from the top local Paul Nicholls yard). AW fans have decent grade action to study at Chelmsford, with the lights coming on at 5.30pm in Essex and the handicaps looking especially competitive for the time of year.

Nordic Tiger
Wincanton 1:45 (UK time)
Harry Derham is very much a young trainer to follow over the next few years, and his unexposed handicapper is expected to relish the emphasis on speed at Wincanton on Thursday. He remains a maiden after five runs over hurdles, usually well backed and shaping well on softer ground (negative ride latest), and can prove himself ahead of this mark in a weak looking Class 5 contest.
Odds: NA
Copperhead
Wincanton 3:45 (UK time)
Joe Tizzard’s veteran 10yo has run with real credit in warm company on all four occasions so far this winter, and will relish the chance to dominate this field from the tape over a suitable 3m2f test of stamina (with the excellent Freddie Gingell to take off a very handy 5lb). He has won 3 of his 15 career starts over fences, including one round here on good ground, and there are no obvious rivals for a frontrunning role among his rivals this afternoon.
Odds: NA
