There are 6 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with the highlight coming at York with the third and final day of their prestigious Dante meeting. The big race of the afternoon is the Yorkshire Cup at 3.35pm, where the top stayers will do battle over the 1m5f trip, and the evergreen 8-y-o Stradivarius will be a warm order to maintain his 100pc record on the Knavesmire. Elsewhere there is excellent flat racing from Hamilton, Newbury, Newmarket and Leopardstown. Jumps fans have the popular evening card from Aintree to study, with a huge crowd expected and drying ground conditions likely after summer finally arrived in the UK this week.
