There is something for everyone on the Saturday at Royal Ascot 2022, with seven compelling televised races on ITV and the betting action sure to be fierce (capacity crowd and all of the off-course bookmakers sure to be offering some terrific value in the morning). The day begins with the 7f Chesham Stakes for juveniles, while the 6f Platinum Jubilee Stakes at 4.20pm provides a terrific opening for older sprinters to win some fantastic prize money at the top level.

The concluding 2m5f Queen Alexandra is one of the longest flat races in the calendar, and often provides an opening for jumps trainers to bring one of their useful hurdlers to compete at the best flat meeting in the world (with their proven stamina counting for plenty).

He needed every yard of the mile trip when winning at Haydock 29 days ago, the first under pressure turning for home but showing a terrific attitude to lead late, and an opening mark of 95 may well be on the lenient side now his stamina is drawn out.
