Today's Horse Racing Tips: Saturday June 25th

Today’s Racing Tips – June 25th
There is cracking racing on the turf and the all-weather on ITV this Saturday, with the cameras covering the best of the action from Newcastle and Newmarket. The former host their best attended meeting of the entire year, with the Northumberland Plate at 3.30pm sure to be the big betting race of the afternoon.
Stamina and an ability to handle the surface will be two important factors for punter to consider, with a huge field chasing the excellent prize money sure to mean the race is very strongly run as usual. At Newmarket there are some classy performers from the top yards on show, with two cracking listed contests and the Group 3 Criterion at 3.15pm a fascinating renewal over seven furlongs.

Believing
Newmarket 2:05pm
George Boughey’s filly caught a tartar over this course and distance when second to Mawj on her debut (winner has since run a screamer in defeat at Royal Ascot), and she overcame a rough trip to land the odds at Wolverhampton 33 days ago. She remains with loads of upside back on the turf, and her excellent trainer remain in brilliant form after 7 winners in the last fortnight.
Odds: 8.50
Today’s Value Angle
Stowell
Newmarket 2:40pm
This progressive performer was ridden from miles off the pace when never landing a blow over 1m6f at Royal Ascot, and is likely to get a much more positive ride here back at the 1m4f trip that suits him so well. He remains with upside after just 6 runs on the turf, and the Gosden yard continues to thrive with 12 winners in the last 14 days at a 24pc strike rate.
Odds: 4.50
Odds are best odds available as at 11am June 24th 2022. Odds may now differ.
Saturday ITV Racing Tips
Time | Track | Selection | Analysis |
---|---|---|---|
1:50 | NEWCASTLE | BE PROUD | Jim Goldie achieved the remarkable feat of training 1000 winners in his career recently, and this tough and reliable sprinter comes into this prize at the very top of his game. He is a previous course winner over five furlongs here, but has plenty of form at six furlongs and will be looking to pounce late under Paul Mulrennan. |
2:05 | NEWMARKET | BELIEVING | George Boughey’s filly caught a tartar over this course and distance when second to Mawj on her debut (winner has since run a screamer in defeat at Royal Ascot), and she overcame a rough trip to land the odds at Wolverhampton 33 days ago. She remains with loads of upside back on the turf, and her excellent trainer remain in brilliant form after 7 winners in the last fortnight. |
2.25 | NEWCASTLE | SENSE OF DUTY | William Haggas continues in blistering form with 9 winners in the last fortnight, and this progressive filly showed a terrific attitude to land hefty market confidence at Haydock 36 days ago. She now steps up to Group 3 company and switches to the all-weather for the first time, but remains open to loads more improvement after just four career starts. |
2:40 | NEWMARKET | STOWELL | This progressive performer was ridden from miles off the pace when never landing a blow over 1m6f at Royal Ascot, and is likely to get a much more positive ride here back at the 1m4f trip that suits him so well. He remains with upside after just 6 runs on the turf, and the Gosden yard continues to thrive with 12 winners in the last 14 days at a 24pc strike rate. |
2:55 | NEWCASTLE | GEREMIA | Jim Goldie has his team in terrific form at the moment, with 6 winners in the last fortnight, and this handicapper was a big eye-catcher when finishing third of 17 at York in May. He disappointed under a negative ride when well backed at Musselburgh last time out, but is worth forgiving that and this test of stamina back on the all-weather should suit ideally. |
3:15 | NEWMARKET | BASS PLAYER | Tom Clover’s unexposed 3-y-o impressed when making a winning debut at Doncaster in April, and was a huge eye-catcher when upped to listed class at Epsom 22 days ago. His inexperience proved costly there on the undulating track, hanging when making rapid headway in a fast run race, and he can improve past these more exposed rivals on fast ground that clearly suits. |
3:30 | NEWCASTLE | RAJINSKY | Hugo Palmer has made an immediate impact since taking over from Tom Dascombe, and this useful stayer has been thriving in recent weeks. His Ripon win in April has been well franked since at Royal Ascot by Get Shirty, and he looked an unlucky loser of the Chester Cup last time out over the marathon 2m2f trip (finishing strongly from well off the pace having met trouble). |
