There are 5 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Sunday, with cracking flat racing from the Curragh very much the highlight. The Group 2 Kilboy Estates Stakes at 2.55pm is a great opportunity for top class fillies over the 1m1f trip, and Aidan O’Brien is sure to have a very strong hand as usual. Elsewhere, there is a low grade card on the turf at Redcar, while jumps fans have Newton Abbot, Stratford and Tipperary to get stuck into.

Les Eyre’s handicapper had been shaping very well in defeat in recent months until racing far too wide up the centre and freely 48 days ago over this course and distance, and he is well worth worth another chance under Lewis Edmunds. He remains a maiden after 14 career starts, but a mark of 58 really should be well within his compass and this looks a particularly weak class 6 contest.

James Horton is a young trainer worth following in the next few seasons, and his 3-y-o impressed when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton in April (form that has been well franked since by the third and fourth). He had little chance upped in class to listed company in the Heron Stakes at Sandown 59 days ago, but should find this class 3 handicap much more suitable, and an opening mark of 86 might underestimate his potential to improve after just three career starts.
