There are 6 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with the highlight very much coming at Sandown for their popular evening turf fixture. The Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at 7.25pm provides some welcome midweek quality, with some progressive performers from the top yards sure to be appearing. The National Stakes at 6.15pm is a valuable listed sprint that often produces a future star in that division, while the Henry II Stakes is a thorough test of stamina for the stayers over two miles at 6.50pm. Elsewhere, there is flat action from Carlisle, Haydock, Ripon and Yarmouth, while jumps fans have the evening card at Limerick to study.
