There are 5 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, with the opening day of the Punchestown spring festival very much the highlight. There are no less than three Grade 1’s on the card, and the Mullins, Elliott and De Bromhead yards are all sure to be represented for some high quality and competitive races. Elsewhere there is flat action from Brighton, Nottingham and Yarmouth in the afternoon, while Ayr stage an evening meeting starting at 5.10pm.
New Dimension
Nottingham 2:30pm
Sir Michael Stoute’s Ulysses colt showed a terrific attitude despite clear signs of inexperience when making a winning debut at Leicester last season, finishing strongly from a poor position to lead on the post over seven furlongs. He has plenty of scope to progress over middle distances this summer, and the step up to a now for this reappearance should be ideal under Ryan Moore.
Odds: 1.66
My Silent Song
Nottingham 3:00pm
Ed Dunlop’s filly ran with credit on four occasions as a juvenile, winning gamely at Pontefract in September on her final start, and is sure to be primed to make a winning return after 215 days on the sidelines. She is already proven on fast ground
over a mile, and the form of her stable is a big positive to her chances here under SDS (five winners in the last fortnight).
Odds: 7.50
Odds are best odds available as at 8pm April 25th 2022. Odds may now differ.
