Today’s Racing Tips – July 5th
There are 5 meetings in Britain on Tuesday, with flat turf action from Brighton, Ffos Las and Pontefract providing competitive action to keep punters and bookmakers busy through the afternoon and evening. AW fans have a Wolverhampton card to study, with 5 of the 6 races handicaps, while Uttoxeter are sure to attract a big crowd for their popular summer jumps fixture starting at 6.00pm.
Today’s Daily Nap
Tom Ward’s progressive 4-y-o filly made a cracking switch to turf when finishing third in an Epsom Group 3 31 days ago, travelling strongly on the bridle under a confident ride but just fading inside the final furlong behind the well backed 2/1f Bashkirova (possibly in front soon enough two out). She will relish this slight drop back in trip at Pontefract on Tuesday, with fast ground ideal and the booking of William Buick increasing confidence she can make the most of a slight ease in class down to listed company.
Today’s Value Angle
Mick Channon’s useful handicapper is in the notebook to win a sprint contest this summer, and had little chance in truth last time out at Royal Ascot in the Wokingham (previous third at Newmarket solid level). This stiff 6f trip should be ideal with a strong pace on the cards up front to set things up for a late charge, and the booking of William Buick is another positive to his chance to bounce back to his very best form.
