David O’Meara’s 3-y-o has struggled to make much impact in a couple of Chester handicaps recently, but he had run extremely well when a close third at Sandown in May and now drops down markedly in class to claiming company at Catterick on Wednesday. He will relish this fast ground at a sharp seven furlongs, and can assert late under the red-hot Danny Tudhope (7 winners in the last fortnight).

Ivan Furtado’s handicapper continues to slide rapidly down the ratings this summer, but he did catch the eye at this track last time out over seven furlongs, and the drop down to a career low mark might just spark him back to life from a career low mark. He missed the break last time but made strong headway up the inner to look a threat briefly at halfway, not seeing much daylight and eventually weakening at the furlong pole. There was enough encouragement there to take a chance in another very weak looking class 6, and he seems sure to go close here if enjoying more luck in running.
