Wednesday at Royal Ascot 2022 provides a really challenging test for punters, with huge fields and very competitive action at the top level throughout the afternoon.
The Royal Hunt Cup at 5.00pm is always a fiendishly hard handicap to solve (and one of the big betting races of the day), and punters are advised to shop around for bookmkakers offering enhanced place terms on the day (often offering down to 6,7 or 8 places for each-way betting).
The Queen Mary gets things underway and is sure to be an ultra competitive sprint for juveniles over the over five furlong trip, with American trainer Wesley Ward sure to have an explosive filly primed for the day.
The highlight of the day is the Group 1 Prince of Wales Stakes at 4.20pm over one mile two furlongs, and this always attracts a top class field chasing one of the biggest prizes of the entire week.
In 2019 Crystal Ocean showed a tenacious attitude on soft ground to land the spoils for Ryan Moore and Sir Michael Stoute, and this years renewal promises to be equally exciting (albeit run on much faster summer ground).
Elsewhere there are supporting cards at Hamilton, Nottingham and Ripon, while NH fans have the card at Uttoxeter to get stuck into.

Jane Chapple Hyam’s 4-y-o filly has won 4 of her 9 career starts for this excellent small yard, and she ran a cracker after five months off the track when finishing fourth behind Lord North at Meydan in March.
She has been trained for this valuable prize since, will relish the rapidly quickening ground conditions, and the booking of championship chasing William Buick is a big positive for her chances.
Odds: 3.50

David O’Meara comes into the Royal meeting with his team in blistering form (7 winners in the last fortnight), and this tough battle hardened handicapper seems sure to give his running again.
He is always held up and ridden for luck from well off the pace, and his regular rider Danny Tudhope will be looking for gaps late as he begins his customary late surge. This course and distance suits ideally, and he shaped really well in defeat when fourth in Group 3 company at Epsom last time out.
Odds: 34.00
Odds are best odds available as at 6pm June 13th 2022. Odds may now differ.
