There are five scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, with flat fans in for a busy afternoon and evening of varied action. They have Brighton, Lingfield (AW), Pontefract and Tramore to study, with some tough handicaps to try to solve at the Sussex venue on summer ground. Jumping followers have Uttoxeter to study, with plenty of water applied at the to ensure decent field sizes for the time of year at the popular Midlands track.

Astral Beau
Pontefract 3.10 (UK time)
Pam Sly’s mare has been hard to win with now for a long time, with her mark too high to be competitive in hot handicaps/not good enough at Group level, but this listed contest looks a good bit of placing under regular rider Shane Kelly. She has won five times in her career so far, and this does look a simpler assignment on a rare journey up north away from the top southern tracks (with the forecast rain a plus).
Odds: 7.00
Toota
Pontefract 2.10 (UK time)
Tim Easterby’s juvenile has improved gradually run to run in three career starts so far at big prices, and looks on an attractive handicap mark now tackling nurseries for the first time at Pontefract on Tuesday. She will need to settle better at this stiff track under David Allan, but there should be a strong pace on, and she can swoop late up the sapping hill with a clean run through.
Odds: 6.00
