There are seven meetings in Britain and Ireland on a busy and varied Wednesday, with competitive flat racing dominating from Catterick, Cork, Kempton (AW), Lingfield (AW) and Musselburgh. Jumping fans are in for a busy afternoon and evening, with Bellewstown and Uttoxeter both staging interesting summer cards.

James Bethell is very much a young trainer to follow over the next few seasons, and his consistent handicapper has been found a terrific opening at Catterick on Wednesday. He remains a maiden after seven career starts at the age of 4, but is well treated on the pick of his placed form and this sharper track is expected to suit ideally (after wilting late up the stiff Pontefract hill last time out).

Catterick 3:10 (UK time)
Paul Midgley now has his team back in the winning groove after a very quiet few months, and his progressive performer looked one to follow when landing a substantial punt down to 5/4f at Haydock in June. He has been given a short break since finishing third at Redcar last time out, and has plenty of pace at his disposal to suggest this fast five furlongs will be ideal under Graham Lee.
Odds: NA
