There are three scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday , with NH fans in for an informative afternoon. They have Haydock and Market Rasen to study on testing ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the former venue (and the top northern sure to be well represented). AW fans have decent grade action to study at Southwell with the lights coming on at 5.30pm at the Midlands track and the handicaps looking especially competitive for the time of year.
In this article:
Prairie Wolf
Haydock 2.45 (UK time)
Sue Smith’s progressive chaser has impressed with his sound jumping to win twice already this winter, and he can defy a career high mark at Haydock on Wednesday. This galloping track and demanding fences should really play to his strengths on soft ground under regular rider Nick Scholfield, and he remains with plenty of upside in handicaps after just four runs over the larger obstacles.
Odds: 3.0
Jubilee Express
Haydock 3.55 (UK time)
Sam Thomas has a cracking team of young horses this season, and his winning hurdler is fancied to get off the mark over fences at the fourth attempt. He has shaped well in the frame in warm handicaps at Exeter and Lingfield recently on testing ground, and the booking of the excellent Sam Twiston-Davies increases confidence that he can land this modest looking small field Class 3 contest.
Odds: 4.5
