Today’s Horse Racing Tips – February 14th

There are four scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday , with NH fans in for an informative afternoon. They have Fontwell and Hereford to study on soft ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Sussex venue (and the local Gary Moore yard well worth keeping on side of when the market speaks positively). AW fans have decent grade action to study at Dundalk and Kempton, with the lights coming on at 4.30pm at the Sunbury venue and the handicaps looking especially competitive for the time of year.

Jonjo O’Neill has returned to form in the last week as the ground eased dramatically, and his progressive chaser is fancied to build on a game win at Catterick last month (3m1f). That was the 7-y-o’s first victory over fences at the second attempt, jumping and travelling fluently before digging deep up the short straight, and he can defy a slightly higher handicap mark here (unseated rider at the first fence last time out at Southwell when well backed).

Nigel Hawke has enjoyed a terrific winter so far with numerous handicap winners, and his chaser has been found the perfect opening at Hereford on Wednesday dropping down in trip. He failed to get home on really deep ground last time at Chepstow over three miles, had been shaping well previously from higher marks and this 2m4f trip and a positive ride can see him snap a losing run stretching back to Wetherby in January 2022.
