There are 6 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with the flat action coming thick and fast from Gowran Park,Hamilton, Lingfield, Southwell and Wolverhampton. Low level handicaps are the order of the day, although Hamilton are sure to get a big crowd in for their popular evening fixture, and for NH fans there is a competitive card at Worcester starting at 4.40pm.

Thunder Roll
Lingfield, 2:30 (UK time)
Paul Cole’s juvenile has shown plenty of promise in three career starts so far at Windsor, and now switches to the all-weather at Lingfield for his handicap debut from a potentially lenient opening mark. All three starts have come over six furlongs on firm ground, but he is a freegoing sort who should have enough pace to cope with a drop back to five here under the promising claimer Mohammed Tabti. A much more positive ride is on the cards than when he finished eighth last time out, gradually fading having never got close after pulling hard under restraint, and this nursery appears a pretty weak class 5 on the face of things.
Odds: NA
Darling Guest
Lingfield, 1:30 (UK time)
Tom Clover’s handicapper might not be getting any younger at the age of 8, but he has been running himself fit this summer and has caught the eye twice recently in defeat over this course and distance. He has finished with running left in the tank on both occasions having suffered a troubled run through, and the talented apprentice Coonor Planas is again booked and will be looking to make amends (with his 5lb claim invaluable at this class 6 level of competition).
Odds: NA
