There are five scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with NH fans in for an informative afternoon. They have Market Rasen to study on improving spring ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Lincolnshire venue. The turf action comes from Leopardstown, where huge fields are likely, while AW fans have low grade action to study at Kempton, Lingfield and Wolverhampton. The floodlights come on at 5.30pm at the Sunbury track, and the novice contests typically competitive with the top Newmarket yards well represented as usual.
In this article:
Dibble Decker
Market Rasen 3.30 (UK time)
Tom Lacey’s unexposed 8-y-o has won 3 from 8 over fences so far, and posted a career best effort when just denied by the resolute Lounge Lizard at Huntingdon last month. This right-handed track over 2m3f would be his optimum (smooth traveller who needs finessing into things on the bridle/producing late), and regular rider Stan Sheppard will be looking to produce him after the last in a weak looking Class 3 for the grade.
Odds: 3.50
Long Draw
Market Rasen 3.00 (UK time)
Olly Murphy has maintained a terrific strike rate in the last few months, and his promising novice has been found a terrific opening into handicaps at Market Rasen on Wednesday. He has shaped with promise under negative rides in two fair maiden hurdles so far (dropped out initially to try and teach him to settle), and this strongly run contest on better ground should set up ideally under the championship-chasing Sean Bowen.
Odds: 6.00
