Calgary Flames vs Arizona Coyotes Best Bet: Monday, December 5th

The Calgary Flames will play host to the Yotes on Monday night in the Great Northwest, and it might be time to saddle up for a few shots on goal in this contest! The Saddledome will bring two teams together who have struggled to keep pucks out of their nets, and our resident hockey expert Ej Garr is all over another total to start the week.

Calgary Flames vs Arizona Coyotes Preview

December 6, 02:00 (UK time)

Saddle up, cowboy! I bring you to the Saddledome for my Monday offer and I know you enjoyed how we ended the week with a barking dog full of value as it was! We move on to a new week, and out of all 6 matches being played tonight, we have so many teams that are playing their worst hockey at the moment.

I figured I would jump out west and it’s because the total is dangling in front of my face at a straight 6 with plenty of value showing 1.95 at most major sites. When a handful of Euro is too much to ask for a 3 – 3 game to play out, well, turn me upside down and color me blue!

First of all, Le Flame has dominated this series going back to November, 2018. Calgary is 9 – 2 over the last 11 meetings and they have taken the last 5 in succession over the Yotes. Can we talk about the last time they met? Holy goal-scoring Batman! Calgary lit up Arizona 9 – 1 in their last meeting of the year while taking all 3 games in the series outscoring the Yotes 17 – 5.

Of course, we can’t just assume all of that success will just carry over into another campaign, but make no mistake that everyone from both organizations knows the recent history coming into this tilt.

Arizona has been outscored 59 – 78 over the course of the year, and their last four outings have all ended with a big, fat L in the standings. As a result, the Yotes are battling with the BlackHawks for the bottom spot in the Central Division table with only 18 points.

Calgary hasn’t exactly been the picture of consistency this year either, and the line setters are giving them way too much respect at 1.30 on the Moneyline to just win the hockey game. My goodness, imagine if the Mayor of Value City even spoke about that stuff, it made my ears ring and I broke out in a sweat just hearing that number, so stop it!

I wish there could be a good reason to offer up that 3.77 on Arizona to pull an upset because that’s more my style, baby! As much as it pains me to leave that unattended, there is enough meat on the bone with this total at 1.95 to not go chasing lines. I don’t chase lines unless I feel in my gut the actual upset can happen, but Arizona can’t stop anyone from pouring goals in the net.

I assume you know there are 32 teams in the NHL, right? Well, Arizona ranks 32nd in the league only putting up 24 shots on goal a night, and that’s why they rank 28th only scoring 2.7 goals per game. And then we turn around and study the defensive stats, and let’s just say when you rank 30th while allowing 34.8 shots on goal to the other team, things are not going to work out too often.

Sure, they will find wins here and there in spots, but this road trip thing is also just taking a toll, as the Coyotes haven’t been home in a month and they’ll still have to go to Edmonton on Wednesday before returning back to Arizona to play on home ice, In fact, it won’t even be their home own ice, because their venue still isn’t ready and they’ll be playing at Arizona State University when they host Boston on Friday.

Let;s just say that tickets got sold out fast for the 5,000-seat venue, and that is not exactly what I call any home ice advantage if you ask me. Regardless, this is the 13th game of a 14-game road trip for Arizona, and I expect more goals to come as they have throughout this trip. Oh, and don’t think that I didn’t notice they are struggling to score more than 3 goals on any night during this trip. Outside of that 4 – 0 win in Carolina, 3 goals has been the ceiling all too often, but tonight they should have some success scoring.

Calgary Flames vs Arizona Coyotes Best Bet

I assume Calgary will try to use their 4th ranked offense that puts up 34.8 shots a night to not let Arizona get comfortable in their barn. Keep in mind, with a straight 6 on the board, a 4 – 2 affair still gives us our money back to bet another day. I hope it doesn’t come down to a 3 – 2 game where we are praying for that empty-netter to push our tip, so let’s hope they don’t make us sweat it out!
