Edmonton Oilers vs NY Rangers Preview

February 18, 02:00 (UK time)

The honorable Mayor of Value City enters the room, you may all be seated! I know you enjoyed the 2.08 value with my tip from the Rangers game on Wednesday, and today we are taking that to the next level.

As you know, I don’t miss a puck drop when the Rangers are playing and I have a boatload of notes to review from the Wednesday match with Vancouver. The Rangers mounted another 6-goal effort for the third straight game, and their dominance over the Western Conference is tremendous. New York improved to 18 – 5 – 3 against Western Conference foes, and how does 19 – 2 against the Pacific Division look? DOMINANT!

Oops, Edmonton is a Pacific Division team and the Rangers are coming to town on fire and brimming with confidence right now.

The Canucks decided to let a rookie make his first NHL start on Wednesday against the Rangers, and let’s just say that was a bad idea. Artis Silovs got thrown right into the oven allowing 3 first-period goals, although the Nucks had no interest in just going away quietly.

The Canucks scored the first goal of the game just 5 minutes into the contest but that lead didn’t last long. Mika Zibanejad responded a minute later with a gorgeous breakaway goal beating Silovs through Silovs’ 5-hole. A minute later, Artemi Panarin tallied his 5th goal in two games to give the Blue Shirts a 2 – 1 lead.

Despite being the #1 ranked team in killing the man advantage on the road, Vancouver scored a pair of power-play goals the first of which tied the game at 2 – 2 in the first period. J.T Miller ripped a wicked one-timer from the right circle to level the game, but Panarin stayed on fire and redirected a Nike Mikkola shot into the back of the net to give the Blue Shirts a 3 – 2 lead in short order.

The second period started, and within a minute the Rangers grabbed a 4 – 2 lead. You have got to find that video and see how impressive the drive was, as Tarasenko stole a puck, drove into the zone, and found Zibanjad on the left side of the goal. Mika faked a shot while no one covered Chris Kreider, and Zibanejad fed him an easy tap-in opportunity that found the net. Gorgeous goal!

Panarin added a second goal and Zibanejad ended the game with an empty-netter to give the Rangers a 6 – 4 win picking up his second goal of the night.

The Rangers have scored six goals in three straight games for the first time since 1989, and the Oilers’ defense is about to get lit up again tonight. The Oilers just gave up five goals to Detroit on Wednesday, and the Habs … I said the Montreal Canadiens, dumped six goals on Edmonton the game before.

Let’s not toy around this time because I am about to hit you with two plays that have more value than you can shake a hockey stick at.

When you are hot you are hot, and no team is as hot as the Rangers are right now. Me being a fan of the team has nothing to do with why we are cashing tickets night after night, we are just taking advantage of the situation at hand. Ready? Set? BET!

Anaheim Ducks vs LA Kings Preview

February 18, 02:00 (UK time)

You can scroll down quickly and get the tip, but can’t you read a little first? The Kings will be looking to pick up their fourth straight win over the Ducks while carrying a modest two-game win streak into Friday’s contest at the Honda Center.

We have a John Gibson alert to issue again! You know plenty about how we have faded big Johnny this campaign, and running into the Kings right now might not work out in his favour this Friday night. The Kings have scored at least four goals in five of their last six games as they set up for two games in two nights.

The Kings will make the quick jaunt down to Arizona to take on the Coyotes on Saturday, but that shouldn’t give LA any fear. The Ducks have surrendered 20 goals over this current 3-game losing streak, while they’ve let 7 goals into the back of their in back-to-back games.

The Sabres came into Anaheim on Wednesday and found a resounding 7 – 3 win, although Lukas Dostal was the victim in the net for the Ducks. I am showing John Gibson as the expected netminder for tonight’s game and that doesn’t make anything easier for the Ducks’ defense.

Gibson allowed 7 goals to the Vegas Knights in his last start while the Penguins torched him for 6 goals in his previous outing. His save percentage is down to .896, which means the Kings are going to put plenty of rubber on the frame tonight. The Kings are going up against the 32-ranked defense that allows 4.1 goals a game and nearly 40 shots a game, which is the worst in the league.

I started to look back at how many times Gibson has allowed 4 or more goals but I got sick of counting, HA! All the 5s and 6s began to take over and I still don’t get how he has a job in the NHL. The Kings will manhandle the Ducks tonight and win this game in convicning fashion.

Anaheim Ducks vs LA Kings Best Bet

The Mayor of Value City has a 2.42 offer for you to soak in and enjoy. When the Kings win this game 6 – 2 you can leave a message below because your ROI% is ridiculous if you are tailing by betting advice. And I mean that in a ridiculously good way!

  • Selection: LA Kings Win + Over 5.5 Goals
  • Best odds: 2.42 (Marathon)
  • Stakes: 4/10

Odds as of 9:00 am February 17, 2023. Odds may now differ.
