William Hill have been one of the most successful companies in recent years, both in terms of overall profitability (putting Ladbrokes firmly in the shade) and in the growth in turnover they have managed.
For racing punters William Hill offer a comprehensive and long established service, with all races priced up and, generally speaking, a decent size wager accepted from non-arb customers. They are rarely standout top offer or right up on the exchange prices, but tend not to move their markets quickly and are willing to stand their ground longer than the competition (notably in the bigger races on a Saturday or when Pricewise tips go out).
The website has improved considerably too in recent times, with a very simple to use format and navigating around it generally an easy process. Hills do not try to compete with the "giveaway" mentality favoured by the likes of Paddy Power, with freebets/cashbacks and various other gimmicks not in their modus-operandi. Rather they offer stability, and cater for big hitting players and recreational users with the same approach.
An experienced trading team mean they offer an excellent ante-post service, which is always kept up-to-date with non-runners and offers an accurate guide as to what is fancied and likely to line up on the day. They use the fact that the company has existed for many decades means they can manage liabilities sensibly, and also control (rather than closedown) their warmest accounts.
Whether a novice punter or bigger player, a Hills account is well worth opening for all those interested in racing.
Best for: Ante-post betting and heavier sized racing punters.
