Arsenal vs PSG Prediction - Champions League
Scott Thornton brings you his Arsenal vs PSG prediction preview ahead of the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.
Arsenal’s pursuit of the Premier League title has already ended, but being crowned champions of Europe for the first time in the club’s history would more than offset that disappointment. They dethroned the reigning kings of Europe in the quarter-finals and face another stern test here.
PSG survived a scare to beat Aston Villa in the last round. However, Luis Enrique’s side have already beaten Liverpool to get ot this stage and have the quality to take out the Gunners.

Arsenal vs PSG Prediction: Enrique’s Attack Can Make Amends For Their Timid Display in the League Phase
Europe, Champions League, Monday, April 29th, 20:00 (UK)
This tie can only be described as mouthwatering. BETSiE gives PSG a 41.9% chance of winning the Champions League, 11.1% more than Arsenal, who are the in-house projection model’s second favourite for the competition.
Mikel Arteta’s side have become known for defending resolutely, particularly in this competition. They have conceded 0.58 goals per game in the Champions League this season, only Inter have a better defensive record. However, the stats indicate that Arsenal also have one of Europe’s most fearsome attacks.
Bukayo Saka’s return to the squad has come at a fantastic time for the Gunners. The electric wide man is Arsenal’s main threat going forward. He ranks in the top 2% of forwards for goals and assists per 90 minutes played in the last 12 months. Saka netted Arsenal’s first when they travelled to the Santiago Bernabeu for their last Champions League match, and he can certainly have an impact here.
Despite their injury plight, Arsenal have still managed to score an average of 2.5 goals per Champions League game this season. Only Barcelona has a better scoring rate in Europe’s elite club competition. They have found the net in all six European games at the Emirates thus far, which includes a 2-0 win over PSG.
Les Parisiens were in danger of being eliminated in the league phase. They have looked far more dangerous in the knockout stages, so we are backing both teams to score when these two heavyweights lock horns once again. The earlier meeting saw very few chances, but the jeopardy of the knockout stages, combined with PSG’s confident attack, should mean we see goals.

The January signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has taken PSG up a notch. The Georgian is an exceptional dribbler and is proving impossible to pin down. Ousmane Dembele is enjoying his best-ever season. He has scored seven and assisted three in the Champions League. Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue are fighting it out for the other place. The pair have directly contributed to 11 goals in this competition.
PSG have also been shaky at the back of late. Both teams have scored in eight of their last nine matches across all competitions. Those matches have seen an average of four goals per game. Their last Champions League game was a thrilling 3-2 defeat at Villa Park. There were nine big chances created in that game. We should see plenty of goalmouth action once again.
