Betis vs Valladolid Prediction: Team News and Lineups Preview
The La Liga’s conclusion is as captivating as ever and our expert Nathan Joyes has provided his Betis vs Valladolid Best Bet, team news, lineups and fixtures preview.
Betis travel to Girona on Monday night before returning home to face almost relegated Valladolid. With a European spot firmly in their sights, this is a big week for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, who will be attempting to keep the gap between them and Mallorca as big as possible.
Valladolid’s hopes of staying up have been all but gone for some time, but they’ve shown some fight in recent weeks – and will be hoping to take advantage of Betis’ busy schedule.
Betis vs Valladolid Prediction: Visitors to go down swinging
Spain, La Liga, Thursday, April 24th, 20:30 (UK)
It’s a huge, decisive week for Betis. Facing Girona and Valladolid gives them an opportunity to all but secure a European spot for next season – but sometimes it isn’t always that easy in football.
Betis’ hectic schedule has kept them incredibly busy – and although they are maintaining 6th spot, there’s bound to be plenty of twists and turns between now and the end of May. Now into the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, Pellegrini will need to keep his squad not only fit but firing – rotations midweek against Valladolid look to be on the cards.
Valladolid probably can’t wait for the season to be officially over, who have been preparing for life in La Liga 2 for quite some time. In fact, they haven’t won any of their last 13 matches (D1 L12).
However, their last victory – back in November 2024 – came against Betis. A second half striker from Kike Perez was good enough to secure the three points – although the Spaniard now plys his trade for Venezia having moved in January.
Still, having beaten them in the reverse fixture, and with improved performances of late, it’s not entirely the best option to back Betis at 1.20.
Instead, there’s plenty of value for both teams to find the back of the net. Valladolid have scored two goals, two games in a row for the first time this season. They may have fallen to a 4-2 defeat against Atletico Madrid, but to score two goals at the Metropolitano was impressive.
Another defeat followed, this time against Osasuna, but once again Valladolid found the back of the net on two separate occasions. They were trailing 2-0 at half-time, but came out fighting in the second 45 minutes and showed more character than they have all season.
Perhaps playing without pressure has finally allowed Valladolid to express themselves, and with the pressure firmly on Betis to not fall short against them once more, this could see the hosts exposed.
Now it’s highly unlikely that Valladolid will win on Thursday, but Betis have only kept three clean sheets from their last 10 home matches – one against Polish outfit Jagiellonia, and another against Las Palmas – who do not travel well.
Valladolid will want to end their long run of poor results – and what better way against a side they have actually beaten already this season? Unfortunately, their defence hasn’t improved, which is why BTTS Yes looks to be an attractive play in this match, rather than looking at the Asian Handicap in favour of Betis.

Betis vs Valladolid Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups
Real Betis’ hectic schedule may see them rotate – especially as this will be their second game of the week. We’ll have to keep a close eye on their fixture against Girona to see if they are any additional injuries, but the hosts at present are only without forward Chimy Avila.
Forward Abde Ezzalzouli has recently returned from the treatment table, although he will have to wait for his chance with Cucho Hernandez preferred to lead the line.
Valladolid’s forward Mamadou Sylla has scored in his last two matches, while his strike partner was also on the scoresheet against Osasuna last weekend. Keep an eye out for Javier Sanchez’s threat from set pieces, as the defender recently scored against Atletico Madrid on the road.
Betis possible starting lineup:
Vieites; Rodriguez, Natan, Llorente, Sabaly, Fornals, Isco, Cardoso, Rodriguez, Antony, Bakambu
Valladolid possible starting lineup:
Ferreira; Henrique, Sanchez, Aidoo, Candela, Juric, Moro, Grillitsch, Chuki, Machis, Latasa
