Jennifer Maia is currently 6-5 in the UFC but has recently created a nice two-fight win streak. After losing her title fight to Valentina Shevchenko, she went 2-2. She was able to gain notable wins against Jessica Eye and Maryna Moroz but also lost to ranked fighters Manon Fiorot and Katlyn Chookagian.
In her last fight at UFC 286, Jennifer went up against Casey O’Neill. She was able to win thanks to a unanimous decision given by the judges. But her displays haven’t seemed that all too impressive ever since she joined the UFC.
With an overall MMA record of 11-5, Viviane Araujo sounds like she isn’t making any way in the women’s Flyweight division. Actually, her 5-4 record in the UFC supports it. She may have entered the promotion with two straight wins but has since only managed three and lost four.
Vivi has gone on a two-fight losing streak for the first time in her career. Her two most recent losses against Alexa Grasso and Amanda Ribas were against some really tough fighters. But as UFC picks show, she is in danger of fighting for her job in this fight.
Neither of the two haven’t seemed too much impressive entering the UFC. The biggest flash seen from Jennifer Maia was her submission win against Joanne Wood. But it came way back in August 2020. Maia needs a staple win if she is to advance up the ranking. If she is able to do it here, it might bring her close to yet another contender position.
Viviane Araujo made her debut in the UFC with an impressive KO against Talita Bernardo. Since then, she was not been able to pull the same trigger and only managed wins via decision. She was seen as someone who could pull flashy punches, but that never materialised. A loss here might bring an end to her UFC stint. That said, fighters are usually the most dangerous when their backs are against the wall.
Given their form and where they are at in their careers, Jennifer Maia vs Viviane Araujo prediction leans towards Maia winning. The odds for her to win straight up lie at 1.68, while Araujo’s win is rated at 2.32.
Maia’s best chance of winning lies in her doing so via decision. But if she is able to soften Viviane with punches in the first, we might expect a submission in the second. Araujo’s best chance of winning is mounting a massive punch. Establishing her range from the start and keeping Maia at a distance is the road the victory for Vivi.
