At 30-years old, Yana has been all around the world and has fought many opponents in different organizations. With a record of 12-5, ‘Foxy’ is probably one of the biggest female Russian MMA fighters. In the UFC, Yana is 2-2, only losing to the best of the best. She’s lost to Cris Cyborg and Aspen Ladd, both times by TKO.
Kunitskaya can also grapple and averages 2.39 takedowns per fight. She is 5’6” with a reach of 68”.
After losing a close split-decision to Leah Letson in The Ultimate Fighter 28 finale back in 2016, Julija turned to other promotions where she’s racked up five consecutive wins. Now, on a five-fight winning streak, she’s headed back to the UFC with a lot of momentum behind her. As her opponent, Stoliarenko is well-rounded, and can handle herself on the ground as well as on the feet.
Julija is 5’7” with a reach of 66”. She is 27-years old, making her three years younger than her opponent in this matchup.
Despite being three years older, Yana has most of the advantages in this matchup. She has the experience, the reach, the size and the technique. Grappling or striking, she is comfortable wherever the fight takes place. I’ll underline the experience advantage here again, as I think it’s the factor ‘X’ in this fight.
Julija is a great fighter, and she briefly held the bantamweight title of Invicta, but she flopped her chance in the UFC. Stoliarenko is more consistent in her performances, and despite two losses to the best of the best, she’s looked good in her UFC run. For those reasons, I like Yana to get the win here.
