Atlanta Braves vs Arizona Diamondbacks Preview

The Arizona Diamondbacks will be playing for a three-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves on Thursday night, and they’ve been significant underdogs for all three meetings. Once again, the Braves are considerable favourites to wrap up the set, but should they be?

The Diamondbacks did what I expected them to do on Tuesday night, and they not only covered the +1.5, but they won the game outright. Unfortunately, we didn’t cash in our Tuesday night ACCA, but the Diamondbacks weren’t the cause of our loss.

I am going back to the well and suggesting we stick to the Arizona +1.5 run line handicap because Zac Gallen is the perfect starting pitcher to have on our side in this spot. Gallen and Spencer Strider are listed as the expected starting pitchers for this duel, and I am sure this game will come down to the wire. The Braves certainly do not need to get swept at home, and the Diamondbacks would love nothing more to build on the confidence they already have coming into Thursday night.

Arizona has scored 21 runs against the Braves over the last two days, and now they have brooms in hand. I think this game will not even come close to a high-scoring affair, as both Strider and Gallen will hold their own.

I see this as a 4-3, or 5-4, type of game, so whichever team comes out on top, and I hope it is the D’Backs, we will be in a great position to cash the +1.5 run line handicap.

The Rays are about as bright as the night sky right now, and another loss on Wednesday has Tampa Bay facing a 4-game losing streak. In come the Orioles to the Trop for the next four days, and this is a massive series in the AL East race for the crown.

If you read my American League futures article, you know that I have the Orioles catching and passing the Rays to win the AL East title, and these next four days will be an excellent start for Baltimore to get there.

I think the Orioles will win this game outright, but I also don’t mind having a little cushion when we are putting bet builders together at 3.13. The Orioles’ +1.5 handicap and the Diamondbacks’ +1.5 handicap work well together because they could both lose, and we can still take home the dough.
