Philadelphia Phillies vs Arizona Diamondbacks Same-Game Parlay: Aces To Notch Another Win

Gallen over 4.5 strikeouts

Only the Minnesota Twins have a higher strikeout rate this postseason than the Philadelphia Phillies (26.8%). Arizona starter Zac Gallen was in the 71st percentile in strikeout rate during the regular season, and went over this number in his last three outings of the 162-game marathon.

Gallen might have notched exactly four strikeouts in each of his two postseason appearances, but that can partly be attributed to the line ups he’s faced. In the first of a seven-game series, Torey Lovullo is going to give Gallen room to work deep into the game, and five strikeouts seems very attainable.

Brandon Marsh over 0.5 total bases

Brandon Marsh has a career .784 OPS against right-handers, and an .864 mark against righties this season. Marsh is also coming into this series after clocking five hits across the last two games of the NLDS.

Philadelphia’s line up might be headlined by bigger names with more power in their bats, but Marsh’s contact skills are useful to keep the line moving. He’s generally hit well over the last few weeks, including a four-game hitting streak to end the regular season.

Both teams to score two runs

The game total is set at just 7.5, despite these two offences posting gaudy Playoff numbers thus far. They are the top two among postseason teams in wRC+, but they are matching up with two Cy Young-calibre starting pitchers in Wheeler and Gallen.

Still, adding this leg to the same-game parlay boosted the odds from 3.25 to 4.75, which is just too much value to turn down. Even if you like the under, both teams scoring a couple of runs seems very likely with how these offences have performed. It could well be a 3-2 game either way.
