Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat Bet Builder Tips: Monday, May 23rd

The Boston Celtics host the Miami Heat at TD Garden tonight at 01:30 (UK Time) for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. Both teams have stolen one road game each, but the Heat are still up 2-1 in the series with the opportunity to potentially close out the series at home. Anything could happen, but if you want my 2 cents, have a look at the article below for my Betting Analysis & 3-piece Bet Builder at 6.50 odds.

The Boston Celtics are down 2-1 in this series, but they are playing at TD Garden once again before moving the series back to Miami. After a blowout victory in Game 2, the Celtics collapsed at home last time around, committing 23 turnovers and getting just 34 points in the paint. The game was still somewhat close, but they still lost by 103-109, and Jayson Tatum finished with just 10 points in the game.
The Boston Celtics have played solid defence all season long, including the playoffs, but their performance in this series has been inconsistent. Even with Butler injured, they allowed Bam Adebayo to go for 31 points in the game, whilst only getting 2 steals in the entire game. Their scorers were terrific in Game 2, but they didn’t get the job done in the last one. It certainly doesn’t help when your bench only contributes 16 points, but they will need a lot more out of Tatum.

The Miami Heat are in a solid position heading into Game 4 tonight, and they can even afford to take it easy. That said, should they pull off the upset in this one, they will head back home with a nice 3-1 lead. Jimmy Butler suffered a knee injury in Game 3, and he is questionable for tonight, but even if he does play, it’s a question of how much he will be able to contribute. Spoelstra relied on Bam Adebayo a lot last game to carry the scoring load and it worked like a charm. The 24-year old big man finished with 31 points, 10 boards and 6 assists.
However, Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, Max Strus, Kyle Lowry and P.J. Tucker are all questionable for game 4. On the other side, Smart and Williams are questionable, so don’t be surprised if we see a lot of points in this game. The Celtics are heavy favourites to win at home at 1.35 odds, whilst the Heat are available at 3.30. 72% of bettors are backing the Celtics to get the job done, and the spread is set at 6.5 points.

All 3 games so far in the series have seen at least 112 points, and I expect to see more of the same in this one. Both teams might be missing some of their key defensive players, and you can bet that fatigue will definitely hinder their defensive effort. The line is set at just 207.5 points, and it’s looking like an easy over.
As mentioned above, Jimmy Butler suffered a knee injury in Game 3 and only ended up playing 20 minutes where he only netted 8 points. I don’t expect Jimmy to be back to 100% even if he does return. His points average in this series is 26.0 points, and considering the type of injury, I don’t think he will be able to top this.
Bam Adebayo was Eric Spoelstra’s best scorer in Game 3, and even before Jimmy went down, he averaged 15.7 points per game. The line went up by just a single point, but with the injury issues the Miami Heat are facing, I expect Bam to have another solid scoring night, somewhere in the mid-20s, but nevertheless go over by a landslide.
