Game 3 between the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers takes place tonight at Barclays Center and the 76ers are enjoying a 2-0 lead. They got the job done at home as victory was never in question and we expect them to continue this trend tonight. Have a look at my best value bet at 1.93 odds.

The Brooklyn Nets are on the wrong side of a one-sided series against the 3rd seed in the East in the Philadelphia 76ers. They are down 2-0 right now and travelling back to Barclays Center hoping to regain some ground in front of their home fans. They’ve had a very difficult season so far, trading away their 2 superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but have managed to make the playoffs nonetheless. They clinched the 6th seed, but unfortunately for them, they are playing the Philadelphia 76ers with MVP candidate Joel Embiid at the helm.
The Nets weren’t a particularly good offensive team, to begin with, but with Ben Simmons out for the season, their fastbreaks aren’t going to be as effective. Mikail Bridges has been playing very well for them since joining the team a little after mid-season, averaging 26.1 points per game and 4.5 rebounds. He even went for 30 points in Game 1 but it wasn’t enough to get them the victory as the 76ers celebrated a 121-101 win. The Nets simply don’t have enough talent to compete against Doc Rivers’ squad and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a sweep here.
The Philadelphia 76ers seem to have finally found their game. They finished the regular season 3rd in the Eastern Conference standings with a 54-28 record. They are a balanced team that defends well and is efficient on offence. They were the 4th best offence when it comes to offensive rating as well as the best shooting team from downtown, draining 38.7% of their shots from beyond the arc. Their slow pace can be a problem at times, but during the playoffs, this is exactly the type of play you need to consistently win games. The 76ers only allowed 110.9 points per game during the regular season, ranking them 3rd in the league in that regard and this has translated into the playoffs. Philly only allowed 101 points in Game 1 and just 84 in Game 2, keeping the Nets to very low shooting percentages.
Doc Rivers and the 76ers have already opened the closet door and are starting to look for the broom. Whilst a 2-0 lead isn’t always a guarantee that the series is over, I don’t think the Nets have enough to compete against a team like this.
The 76ers have the scorers, defence and experience to finish out this series quickly and earn a nice period of rest before facing the Celtics in the next round. The 4.5-point spread is quite below for such a big quality discrepancy and I see some nice value in backing the 76ers tonight.
