Charlotte’s start has been quietly solid, particularly with LaMelo Ball still out. Cody Martin and Terry Rozier are day-to-day for Monday’s contest. On the other side of this matchup, Sacramento has no such health concerns.

The Kings have been better than their 1-4 record indicates. De’Aaron Fox has picked up where he left off last season. Domantas Sabonis is thriving at the five spot, and Keegan Murray has begun to justify their decision to select him ahead of Jaden Ivey. Kevin Huerter had a big game in the win over Miami.
Narrow losses to the Clippers and Warriors are a positive sign rather than reason for pessimism here. They thoroughly outplayed the Miami Heat in their last game, and they are deserving of favourites status for their trip to the Spectrum Center. We feel very comfortable taking the Kings to win.
The Hornets’ defence has been surprisingly effective, ranking 11th. They are doing a decent job at limiting opponent threes, but have also ridden some luck with opponent perimeter shooting. The Kings are stacked with shooting around their two stars, and are fourth in three-point rate on the season.
Huerter, in particular, has caught fire in three of their five games, averaging four made threes per contest. With Charlotte honed in on Fox and Sabonis, they could struggle to cope with Huerter’s off-ball movement. Having gone seven-for-eight from downtown against Miami, the former Hawk is a good bet to make 2+ threes in this one.

Both of these teams like to get out and run, placing in the top 11 in pace. Charlotte has been a profitable team on the over this season. The offence is going to rule over the defence in this game, making over 229.5 points a value option. Sacramento has gone over this mark in its last four. Charlotte has gone over this in four of its five games to date.
If this is going to be a high-scoring game, Fox will be running the show for the road team. Averaging over 27 points per game so far this season, the electric point guard had his worst scoring game of the campaign last time out, notching just 17 against Miami. He has passed his alternate lower points line in all of his other appearances, however.
With some winnable games to come, Sacramento is poised to kickstart its season over the next week or so. Following their impressive performance against the Heat, the Kings should have far too much for this Hornets team missing its most important player.
