Chicago Bulls vs Sacramento Kings Best Bet: Wednesday, March 15th

The Chicago Bulls host the Sacramento Kings tonight at United Center for a rematch of their game in early December. The Kings won that one by 110-101 in friendly territory, but they are heading out on the road tonight against a team that is on a winning streak.

Chicago Bulls vs Sacramento Kings Preview

Thu, Mar 16th. 00:00 (UK time)

The Chicago Bulls aren’t having the season most expected. With Lonzo Ball out for the season, they are 11th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 31-36 record. They have a positive 18-15 home record and have covered the spread in 17 of those games. Not impressive by any means, but it shows they do play a lot better at United Center, with their net rating jumping from -1.8 to +3.5. They have won 3 of their last 5 games and are coming off a 111-119 win against the Houston Rockets.

They have struggled a lot offensively, only averaging 113.2 points per game and ranking 23rd in offensive rating. However, this trend has changed over the last 5 games, where the Bulls have ranked 5th in offensive rating, along with ranking 10th in points with 119.0. They are the slowest team in the league at the moment, but when facing an opponent like the Kings, the game will inevitably speed up and we will see a high-scoring result.

The Kings are having an amazing season right now, and are a lock to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2005/06 season. They are 3rd in the west with a 40-27 record and have won 8 of their last 10 games. They are coming off a 124-133 home loss against the Milwaukee Bucks and are eager to get back into the win column against a team they already beat this season.

We’ve backed the Kings enough times this year that I don’t need to remind you that these guys have the best-rated offence in the league, averaging 121.3 points per game. I also don’t need to tell you that they are one of the fastest teams in the league with 104.5 possessions per game and a 101.38 pace rating. All of the things we’ve listed so far only go in favour of our tip tonight, which is why I will cut to the chase already.

Chicago Bulls vs Sacramento Kings Best Bet

The Bulls’ offence has gotten much better recently and they have seen some very high-scoring results. Since joining the Bulls, Patrick Beverley has played 8 games and averaged 4.1 assists per game. He is coming off a 16-point and 5-assist game against the Rockets, and against a meagre defence like the Kings have (118.6 ppg allowed), we should see a solid offensive game out of him again.

Now, my colleague Sam Cox is backing Sabonis to do some damage in his Wednesday NBA Accumulator article, but I see some value in backing Beverley too. If the game gets high-scoring as we expect and Bev sees his usual number of minutes, he should have no problems getting to at least 4 assists again. Bet365 has him at 2.20 to get it done, and I like that bet very much.

  • Selection: Beverley Over 3.5 Assists
  • Best Odds: 2.20 (Bet365)
  • Stakes: 4/10

Odds as at 11:00 am on March 15th, 2023. Odds may now differ.
