The Dallas Mavericks in their playoff spot chase will host the Philadelphia 76ers tonight at American Airlines Center. After trading for Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks haven’t shown improvements, losing the last 2 home games with average performances by the new superstar. The Sixers are considering resting Embiid tonight as they’re sitting comfortably in the 3rd place in the East.

The Mavs have finally acquired a superstar to pair up with Luka. For now, Kyrie has been very average and we are expecting him to take more shots and shine tonight finally. He is averaging only 18.5 points with the Mavs which is not realistic. Luka is ready for tonight’s game as well, and after taking into account that the Mavs have lost the last 2 home games, tonight is a must-win for them. They are also 1 win behind a playoff spot.
They are averaging 113.5 points per game with average shooting splits which combine for 47% from the field. After Kyrie gets integrated into coach Kidd’s offence, we expect them to up their numbers. For tonight’s game, we are counting on their sense of urgency and motivation to clinch the desired Playoff spot and finally be inside the top 6 teams in the West. The Mavs will be missing D. Bertans due to a hamstring injury.
The Sixers are having a solid season. The duo of Harden+Embiid seems to be working better than ever before. They are currently 3rd in the East with a score of 40W 21L. They have been very efficient from behind the arc, acquiring a 39% 3pt shot conversion (5th in the league). For tonight they are considering resting their main star J. Embiid due to a small ankle injury, which shows their leisureliness regarding tonight’s game. We are counting on the MAvericks to seize this opportunity and take the W in the end.
The Mavs have won 3 out of the last 4 games against tonight’s opponent. Although they have lost 4 of their last 5 games they need to win tonight against a favoured side to snap back to winning mode and continue their quest. If the Sixers indeed rest Embiid we see the the moneyline shifting closer to 1.55 for the home team before the game.
