Having extended their season with a Game 4 win, the Dallas Mavericks are looking to take the series back to Texas by beating the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 on Thursday night. The Dubs are favoured by seven points for the matchup in San Francisco despite suffering a blowout loss just a couple of days ago. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 02:00 (UK time).
In this article:
The total is 215.5, which was cruised past in Game 4 with the Mavericks finally draining some outside shots. Golden State is averaging 114 points per game in this series, compared to just 105.8 for Dallas. Scoring partly increased because Dallas increased their pace in Game 4, both getting out in transition more and being more active in the halfcourt. They are generally a slow-paced team but found some success by speeding up, and we can expect similar in Game 5.
It’s no secret that the Warriors want to play fast. Steve Kerr’s team thrive in chaos. The only unders in this series have been as a result of ice-cold perimeter shooting from the Mavericks. Three-point shooting is often unpredictable, but we still feel comfortable taking the over with the game being played that bit quicker.

Reggie Bullock had a bounce-back game from downtown after going 0-for-seven in Game 3. He drained six of his 10 outside looks in Game 4, and he’s been the leading beneficiary of the Mavericks helping on Luka Doncic. Through the playoffs, the former Knick has made them at a good rate whether in the corner or above the break, and Golden State has frequently hid its weakest defender on him, which often draws into screening actions.
Bullock has made three or more threes in four of his last six – take his made threes over for Game 5.
The offensive contributions of Draymond Green are something to keep an eye on in Game 5. Green isn’t posting massive assist numbers like he did late last season, but he’s being more aggressive in attacking Dallas’ porous interior defence. Whether rolling when Steph Curry is doubled or driving himself, Green has been an effective scorer of late, reaching double figures in four of his last five.
We know the former Defensive Player of the Year finds another gear in closeout games. His 14.5 points and assists line is on the low side – he’s passed this in both clinchers and four of five. The assists provide some insurance in case it’s another quiet scoring night.
It’s been a group effort from the Warriors. Green has upped his scoring, and Steph Curry has been active in all facets of the game. Averaging over seven boards per contest, and clocking 19 assists over the last two, Curry has passed his 12.5 assists and rebounds line in all four games in this series.
The combination of the Mavericks’ defence on him and their inconsistent rebounding has aided Curry’s all-around production. There are easy assists off their doubles and traps, and with the two-time MVP usually on Dorian Finney-Smith or Reggie Bullock, he often doesn’t have to worry about his matchup on the glass. This hit in our bet builder a couple of days ago, and we’re rolling with it again here to get us to 8.00.
