Game 3 of the series between the Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies takes place at Chase Center on Saturday night, and I’ve got a 4-piece Bet Builder at 11.00 odds ready and waiting. The series is tied at 1-1, and both Steve Kerr and Taylor Jenkins have had a lot of work to do ahead of Game 3. We’ll see what adjustments they have made, but in the meantime, take a look at my Bet Builder Tips & Analysis in the article below.

The Golden State Warriors finished the regular season 3rd in the western conference and were also 3rd favourites to lift the NBA title at 9.00 odds. They are now second in line at 4.20 odds, and it’s easy to see why. The Warriors easily dispatched the Denver Nuggets in 5 games, and have managed to steal a home game from the Grizzlies. They are now coming back to Oakland hoping to get a 3-1 lead, and as the 5t-ranked NET rating team for the 2021/22 season, don’t be surprised if it actually happens. The Warriors have had the best defence in the league this season, ranking 1st in defensive rating and allowing just 105.5 points per game. They are also a deadly offensive team with 27.1 assists per game as well as 14.3 three-pointers. The Warriors can finish games in a hurry, and they love playing at Chase Center, where they have covered the spread in 59.5% of their regular-season games.

The Memphis Grizzlies established themselves as a legitimate and dangerous team this year, finishing the regular season 2nd in the west with 56 wins and 26 losses. They eliminated the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round in 6 games, but have unfortunately lost Game 1 of the series against the Warriors. The Grizzlies are one of the fastest teams in the league and have ranked 2nd in the playoffs, but their lack of playoff experience has led to a lot of mistakes, and they are averaging 15.9 turnovers per game. Their defence has been terrific, ranking 3rd in defensive rating so far in the playoffs and grabbing 9.1 steals with 6.5 blocks per game. They have been one of the best playoff teams on the road this season, covering the spread in 62.8% of their games, but we’re talking about the playoffs here, and they are facing a very dangerous team.

Game 1 was a heartbreaking home loss for the Grizzlies as Ja Morant was unable to secure the scoop layup in the final seconds, but the Grizzlies bounced back in Game 2 and forced a 106-101 victory. They have to steal at least one of their two road games now if they want to avoid going down 3-1 in the series. Ja Morant was their top scorer last time around with 47 points and 8 assists, and with DIllion Brooks out for this game, he will have to try and repeat that performance. The Grizzlies shot just 31% from downtown, but their 20/21 free throws helped them get over the edge. However, they allowed the Warriors to get 60 points in the paint, and this is something Taylor Jenkins will surely try to adjust.

The Warriors got the job done on the road, stealing a road game from the Grizzlies and are in a solid position heading back home for the next two. They had a solid outing in Game 1, scoring 117 points with 31 assists, but there are some things Steve Kerr will have to change. Shot selection has been somewhat of an issue in the playoffs, and their shooting percentages in Game 2 were horrific. 42.1% from the field and just 18.4% from beyond the arc along with 18 turnovers made one of their worst performances in the playoffs so far. But the Warriors tend to bounce back after such performances, and the home crowd should help them get their offence going. They have more than enough scoring options, and even in one of their worst games of the season, they were able to keep the game close.

Bet Builder is available at odds of 11.00

Odds as at 2 pm May 6th. Odds may now differ.

After a dismal performance at FedExForum last game, I’m expecting the Warriors to bounce back at home. They have covered the spread in almost 60% of their home games this year, and they should be able to get their offence going in friendly territory.

Steph Curry is Golden State’s top 3-point shooter, averaging 11.7 threes per game and making 4.5. He had a horrible shooting night from downtown in Game 2, but he was still able to drain three 3-pointers. That said, I expect the Warriors to have a much better night this time around, and with almost 12 attempts per game, chances are that the best shooter in the game will deliver.

With Dillion Brooks out for Game 3, Ja Morant will have to take an even bigger role in the Grizzlies’ offence. He netted 47 points and 8 assists last game, and although I don’t expect him to govern by this much, the Grizzlies need him to stuff the stat sheets once again.

Andrew Wiggins has averaged 2.2 assists per game this season, and even though his role is mostly to shoot and score, the line is set so low at 1.5 assists that I can’t miss out. Let’s face it, Wiggins is not their top ball distributor, but he had 2 in their last game, as well as 3 of their 5 games against the Nuggets.
