The Los Angeles Lakers have made a surge late in the regular season to earn themselves a playoff spot, winning 7 of their last 10 games. They are still the 7th seed in the West and nothing is certain yet. They have the means to win their next 2 games and possibly climb to 6th place, securing a playoff spot and earning themselves a few days of rest. They are coming off a 125-118 loss to the Clippers in LA, and the good news is they have spent the last 2 days resting and recovering. Davis, Lebron and Russel are listed as questionable, but keeping in mind the team’s needs, we expect them to play tonight.

On the other side, we have the Phoenix Suns, a team that has effectively put an end to their regular season and can cruise to the finish line. They are 4th in the Western Conference having won their last 7 games in a row and have now secured their position no matter what happens in the next 2 games. This is why we can see Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant on their injury report listed as ‘doubtful’ for tonight. There is no reason for coach Monty Williams to risk losing one of his key players now, especially considering their injury issues this season. The Suns have a championship-calibre team and they need to keep their focus on the playoffs. We expect them to rest their key players tonight.

I don’t think this is something the Suns can overcome and I expect a very low-scoring night out of them. They play a slow style of basketball and this can drag the game down quite a bit.
