Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks Bet Builder Tips: Butler Set For Another Big Postseason Night

Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks Bet Builder: Tuesday, April 11th
The Miami Heat meet the Atlanta Hawks in the seven-eight Play-In game on Tuesday night. Miami finished with three more regular season wins than Atlanta, contributing to their status as comfortable favourites for this one. Atlanta lost three of the four regular season meetings, with their lone win in this matchup coming back in January.
This Heat group has been off the pace of the East’s contenders this season. Some, however, still see them as a potential challenger, who can at least make it difficult for the Bucks or Celtics in the first round. They have immense playoff experience, reaching the bubble Finals and falling in Game 7 of the Conference Finals just last year.
Atlanta have again endured a tumultuous season. Trae Young and Dejounte Murray have not formed the backcourt partnership the front office envisioned. There has been a change at head coach, with Quin Snyder arriving a matter of weeks ago. The Hawks went 19-28 against teams above .500 in the regular season.

Like Miami, Atlanta has had some playoff success. Many of this roster were around for the Conference Finals run a few years ago. Trae Young has proven he enjoys the biggest games, but it is important to note he was nullified by the Heat in the 2022 playoffs. Young had three games with 11 or fewer points and turned the ball over at a series-altering rate.
Murray’s presence should make it tougher for the Heat to sell out on Young. Still, don’t be surprised if Erik Spoelstra replicates that strategy and forces someone else to beat them. As a result, Murray’s alternate points line of 14.5 seems a great bet here. He has passed this in eight of his last nine games.
Where Young’s playoff reputation took a hit in 2022, Jimmy Butler’s impressive postseason CV improved further. He battled through injuries in the first round against Atlanta, but still played a key role. Then, he put the team on his back against the Sixers, and had some monstrous numbers in the Conference Finals loss to Boston.
Butler’s minutes spike to the high thirties in the postseason, and he could easily get into the forties if this one is close.
In his last nine playoff games playing over 30 minutes, Butler has passed this alternate line on every occasion.
Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks Bet Builder
Despite a surprisingly poor net rating for the season, Miami are clearly the better of these two teams. They are expected to up their level for the playoffs, and have the added benefit of homecourt advantage.
There is upside with the Hawks, but they are nowhere near as dangerous an opponent as they were a couple of seasons ago. We’re wrapping this wager up with the Heat on the moneyline.
- Dejounte Murray over 14.5 points
- Jimmy Butler over 22.5 points
