The Miami Heat look to wrap up their first-round series with the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. Tipping off at 00:00 (UK time), Miami is coming off a blowout Game 4 win but is without Kyle Lowry, who remains sidelined with a hamstring strain.

The Heat are favoured by 7.5, a spread they have covered in all three wins in the series to date. The total is set at 217.5 points; they combined for 218 or more in Games 2 and 3 but went under this mark in Game 4 with the Hawks being held to just 86.
Atlanta had Clint Capela back, but the former Rocket is still on the injury report. Bogdan Bogdanovic is also questionable with a knee issue. Bogdanovic’s offence was crucial in Atlanta’s lone win – his role has only taken on greater importance with Trae Young struggling. Young has 24 turnovers in four games and is averaging just 16 points per contest.

Jimmy Butler has been a two-way phenomenon in this series so far. Butler has carried the offence, getting to the basket at will, and his jump shot looks smoother than ever. He’s also got 11 steals in the series – he’s good value to clock over 1.5 takeaways in Game 5.
Not many Hawks have impressed in this series, but there have been good signs from De’Andre Hunter at both ends. Hunter is taking on a greater offensive role, and he’s been effective from downtown, hitting almost 48% of his threes. His points line is 14.5, a mark he’s cleared in each of the last three. With the defence so focused on Young, Hunter has got some open looks from the perimeter and has been able to attack off the bounce on occasion. We like him to hit this over.

Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks Bet Builder

  • Miami Heat -4.5
  • Jimmy Butler over 1.5 steals
  • De’Andre Hunter over 14.5 points
  • P.J. Tucker over 13.5 points and rebounds

Young’s presence has been a factor at the other end of the floor, too. Miami has hunted the All-Star guard, and he’s often been hidden on P.J. Tucker. Tucker, a knockdown corner three-point shooter, has been left open on occasion. At other points, he has snuck in for offensive rebounds (six over the last two games) or posted up Young. There’s great value on the former Rocket to reach 14 points and rebounds – he’s passed this mark in three of four in this series.

Miami has outscored Atlanta by 57 so far. They are 12 clear in rebounds, 30 ahead in assists and have turned it over 14 fewer times.

Lowry’s absence hampers the Heat at both ends, but they still managed to completely dominate in Game 4. Young was no more effective, and without Young being able to assert himself, the Hawks stand no chance.

While all of the Heat’s wins have been by 10 or more points, we’re looking to play it a bit safer here and go for an alternate line of -4.5. It still gets the bet builder up to a great value price of 8/1.
