The Miami Heat take on the Boston Celtics tonight at FTX Arena for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. These two teams have split their meetings in the regular season, but it’s been a one-way street in the playoffs in Miami’s favour.
The game tips off tonight at 01:30 (UK time) and we have once again created a 2-piece bet builder at bet365 at 3.80 odds.

Wed, May 24th. 01:30 (UK time)
The Miami Heat are in a great position to earn another trip to the finals, their second since the 2019/20 season. This is their third time facing the Boston Celtics in the Conference Finals during this time and they have split the match-up so far, with Miami winning 3 years ago and Boston taking it in 7 games last year.
The Heat had a pedestrian regular season with a record of 44-38 and made their way to the playoffs through the play-in tournament. They even lost the first game of the tournament but have really turned it around since and have been unstoppable. As the 8th seed, the Heat eliminated the 1st seed Bucks in 5, the Knicks in 6 and are now a single step away from the NBA Finals! Defence has been their bread and butter this year, allowing just 108.6 points per game and keeping opponents to 32.9% from beyond the 3-point line.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have really put their foot in it, going down 0-3 in the Eastern Conference finals after finishing 2nd in the Eastern Conference. They finished the regular season with a 57-25 record and were one of the heavily favoured teams to go all the way before the playoffs started. However, a mixture of bad defence and cold offensive nights have them on the brink of elimination.
The Celtics are the worst-ranked defensive side in the Conference finals with a rating of 113.5. On the other side of the court, their offensive rating has dropped to 110.6 over the last 3 games whilst the Heat are at 124.4 during the same stretch. Their ball handling has also been terrible, averaging 15 turnovers per game and an asst/to ratio of 1.53. This type of play is a guaranteed ticket to Cancun and we fully expect the Heat to take this series.
Bet builders are the best way to earn a profit if you successfully predict the flow of a given game and Bet365 allow as many as 12 selections. There are a lot of markets to choose from, including player points, assists, rebounds, turnovers and a lot more.
I’m going with just 2 selections for tonight and I’m more than happy with the 3.80 odds we are getting.
For my first selection, I’m backing the Boston Celtics to put up a fight. With their backs against the wall, the Celtics have no choice but to fight back in enemy territory. Although they have been winning the rebounding battle, their defence has been several lacking this series and I expect a much better effort this time around. However, I don’t suspect they will have enough energy to last the entire game against the Heat, but it should be enough to give them an edge in the first half. Give me the Celtics with a point to win the first.
It’s been difficult watching Al Horford in this series, especially on the defensive end of the floor. He is always a step slow and his minutes have seen a huge drop in this series. He went from playing almost 40 minutes against Philly to just 19 in Game 3 against the Heat. His +/- was -3 in Game 1, -15 in Game 2 and -21 in Game 3. We expect his minutes to continue dropping and his offensive contributions should see a similar path. We are taking the under on 6.5 points for big Al.
