We’ve got a rerun of the 2019/20 Eastern Conference semi-finals between the Miami heat and the Boston Celtics. The Heat went up 1-0 in the series on Tuesday night after a 118-107 win at FTX Arena, but the Celtics are not going down without a fight, so get ready for a dogfight. We won our Warriors vs Mavs Bet Builder yesterday, and I’ve got another 4-piece Builder at 11.00 odds ready for tonight. Have a look at my analysis & Bet Builder Tips in the article below.

After getting swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs last year, the Miami Heat are poised to repeat their success from the 2019/2020 season and reach the finals for the second time in a 3-year period. The Heat took care of business against the 76ers in 6 games, winning all of their home encounters. They are up 1-0 in the series against the Celtics after a dominating victory on Tuesday night and are hoping to get Boston on the ropes with another victory tonight.

The Miami Heat have been a true playoff team all season long and it’s easy to see why they can’t stop winning. The Heat allowed just 105.6 points per game during the regular season whilst ranking 5th in defensive rating. Their offence has also gotten much better compared to last season, averaging 110.0 points per game on 25.5 assists and a 3-point percentage of 37.9%. They have also ranked 3rd in offensive and 2nd in defensive rating this year in the playoffs, whilst winning all of their home games.

Having made the playoffs in each of the last 8 seasons, including this one, the Boston Celtics are looking to finally make it past the conference semi-finals. They faced the Miami Heat two years ago in this exact scenario and eventually lost the series in 6 games.  They are hoping for a different outcome this time around, but losing Game 1 by 118-107 doesn’t really help their chances. Both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown came up big in the stat sheet, but a 1.3 assists/turnover ratio simply won’t get the job done against the Heat.

The Celtics have been a well-balanced team under Ime Udoka this season, ranking 2nd in NET rating during the regular season and finishing 2nd in the east with 51 wins and 31 losses. They swept the Brooklyn Nets and beat the defending champs the Milwaukee Bucks in a tough 7-game series. Their defence has performed very well in the playoffs so far, allowing just 103.2 and ranking 3rd in defensive rating.

Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics  Builder Tips

  • Miami Heat to Win
  • Jimmy Butler Over 1.5 Steals
  • Bam Adebayo Over 1.5 Blocks
  • Jayson Tatum Over 3.5 Turnovers

Bet Builder is available at odds of 11.00

Odds as at 2 pm May 19th. Odds may now differ.

The Miami Heat have yet to lose a home game in this playoff tournament. They were able to take down the Celtics due to their terrific defensive effort and ball pressure. They had 12 blocks and 10 steals in that came, easily covering the -4.5 point spread. This is their opportunity to gain a significant advantage in the series, and I expect another such performance out of Spoelstra’s boys, resulting in another home win.

Jimmy Butler has been the centrepiece of Miami’s playoff success this season and he delivered once again last time around. Jimmy had 41 points and 5 assists, but the one thing I am focusing on tonight is steals. Jimmy had 4 steals in Game 1 and I’m backing him to put the clamps down once again and get at least 2.

Despite averaging less than a block per game both during the regular season and during their series against the 76ers, Bam had 4 blocks in Game 1 against the Celtics. The Celtics focused on getting into the paint for a lot of the game and even got 48 inside. I don’t think this is something Ime Udoka will try to change in this game, giving Bam more than enough opportunities to swat a couple of them away.

Jayson Tatum is one of the top players in this tournament when it comes to touches per game, and he is also among the ones who commit the most turnovers with 4.3 per game. He had a whopping 7 turnovers in Game 1, and you can bet that the Heat will try and pressure him s much as possible in hopes of making a mistake. He will be handling the ball for a lot of the game, and chances are he will go over.
