A trademark fourth-quarter comeback from Miami levelled the series after Denver seemed to have built a series-defining lead. The Heat again came through when the pressure was its most intense, with Erik Spoelstra leaning heavily on their zone down the stretch.
Denver’s offence looked troubled for the first time this postseason. Michael Porter Jr and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had poor games, and the former could see his minutes decline for Game Three with Bruce Brown and Christian Braun both having sizeable roles to play. Porter’s defence was a real problem for Malone in Game Two.

The Heat shot 48.6% from three in Game 2. Streaky shooting has been a foundational part of their run to these Finals. They were cold from downtown in Game 1, and managed to drain some shots in a near-must-win Game 2. Repeating that feat is possible (as they’ve already shown this postseason), but it seems like a long shot.
Miami’s Shot Quality has been considerably worse than Denver’s in this series. Sure, that was also the case against Boston and Milwaukee, but this Nuggets offence is a different animal. Denver was elite against the zone in the regular season, and will likely prove that their fourth-quarter struggles were no more than a blip.
Brown is an important element for the road team. His defence is valuable, and he’s been a surprisingly impactful scorer in this postseason. Taking advantage of the Nuggets’ spacing as a driver and timing his cuts to the basket, the former Net has scored over 10.5 points in six of the last eight games. His minutes nudged back up to the high twenties in Game 2, and should be around that level again on Wednesday night.

Denver is clearly the superior team. Yes, Miami has home court, but the Nuggets won Game Six in Phoenix and clocked consecutive wins away to the Lakers.
Miami needs a red-hot shooting night to be able to keep pace with this Nuggets offence. Jimmy Butler does not look capable of putting the team on his back like he did in the first round.
In both games, Shot Quality has pointed towards the under. The teams went just over this line in Game Two, but it only takes a slight shooting regression from Miami for the under to land. They combined for only 197 points in Game One. Miami also went under this line in their last three games against Boston.
This wager at 6.00 is superb value. We’re backing the stronger team to win and the under on a total which looks a few points too high. Malone is likely to give Brown some minutes from Caldwell-Pope and Porter, making this points over very achievable.
