We are 11 days into the NBA season, some teams have yet to win their first game, and the Sacramento Kings are one of them!

Both teams started the season way below their expectations. For the last season’s Eastern Conference Finalist, beginning a season with 2 wins out of 6 games is a huge surprise. Sure, most of the losses came in games vs. great teams like Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, and Boston Celtics, but losing to the Chicago Bulls at home, who were playing without Zach Lavine, is unacceptable. Butler has a solid start to the season, but Herro, Lowry, and Adebayo are underperforming, and that should change tonight.
On the other side, we have the Sacramento Kings, who lost all 4 of their games this season. Considering their “Haliburton for Sabonis” trade was meant to make them a playoff team, things are not working out, and it seems they are not even close to being a playoff team while Haliburton is playing like a true all-star. Their most significant issue is on the defensive side of the floor, allowing 3rd most points per game so far.
Suppose we don’t look at usage in games vs. Toronto and Boston (Best switching defence in the league and overall top 5 defence). In that case, Adebayo’s usage is 26% which is 1% higher than the last season when he had a 19.1 pts average, and he is playing even more minutes this season.
The Kings are an excellent match-up for him because they allow the 3rd most FGM inside the 8ft and the 3rd most free throws attempts per game, and that’s where Adebayo’s scoring usually comes from. Keegan Murray missed the season’s first game but came off the bench in the 2nd and was excellent. He played so great that he has already locked himself in a starting spot. He scored 3+ threes in all 3 games, and now he is playing against Miami, who allow the 2nd-most threes per game.
On the other side, Harrison Barnes is not playing great this season, and with Murray starting, he should lose even more offensive usage. He scored 9 or fewer points in 3 out of the 4 games this season and is now getting the most challenging matchup.
