The Minnesota Timberwolves host the Memphis Grizzlies at Target Center on April, 22nd at 00:30 (UK time). This series is tied at one game apiece after two entertaining contests in Memphis. There’s a lot to play for as the series switches to Minneapolis, and we can expect a fiery atmosphere with the T-Wolves hosting just their third postseason game since 2004.

In this article:
The total is set at 236.5 points for this game; 230 points were scored in Game Two after 247 in Game One. The two-seeded Grizzlies are favoured by 2.5 points after their win a couple of days ago. Minnesota won both of its home games against the Grizzlies in the regular season, but was outplayed in Game Two and looked lost after Taylor Jenkins took Steven Adams out of the game.
Jaren Jackson Jr was a +21 in Game Two. Xavier Tillman provided great minutes off the bench, possessing both the quickness and strength to match up with Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns is a rough cover for Adams, and the former Thunder big is unlikely to see many more minutes in this series.

It’s been a tough postseason for Towns so far. Only one team fouled more than the Timberwolves in the regular season, and that trend has already haunted them in the playoffs with Towns and others facing foul trouble. The first quarters of each of the last two games have been dominated by free throws for both teams – it will be interesting to see if these defences can be more disciplined on Thursday night.
Memphis turned it over 10 fewer times than Minnesota in Game Two. They grabbed eight more rebounds. It’s cliché to say depth doesn’t matter in the playoffs, and the Grizz proved that their deep bench is useful, getting meaningful contributions all the way down the roster.
The Timberwolves will expect to shoot better than 39.5% from the field in front of their own fans, but their offence has looked stagnant at times through two games. D’Angelo Russell has just 21 points on 22 shots, and Towns was not the same force when facing the Tillman and Jackson frontcourt.

The quality of Memphis’ field goal attempts in Game One was easily enough to win it. They simply were ice-cold, but they bounced back in Game Two. The aggressive defence of the Timberwolves took the ball out of Ja Morant’s hands-on occasion, though that just made him into more of a playmaker than a scorer. Clocking 10 dimes in Game Two, Morant’s 7.5 assists line for the third game is on the low side. We like him to hit that over.
Jackson has been disruptive at the five in this series. Whether guarding Towns straight up or helping off a weaker shooter, Jackson is a menace on the defensive end. He led the league in stocks, and with nine through two games, he’s a safe bet to post over 2.5 steals and blocks in Game Three.
With Jackson dominating the interior, and the Timberwolves already loving three-point shots, we expect a lot of perimeter attempts from the home team. Anthony Edwards is unafraid to let it fly, and has over 3.5 threes in six of his last nine games, including eight across over the first two games of this series. We’re adding Edwards’ threes over to our bet builder.
